5 THINGS TO DO AFTER HSC EXAMS

Finishing up HSC exams? Congratulations! You’ve got a blissful few months ahead of you. Here are a few things you can do to make the most of it.

1. Relax! Make the most of your holiday.

Since you’ve just completed one of the most stressful, pressure-filled and intense periods of your education so far, you definitely deserve a break. This holiday would be the perfect time to travel, whether internationally or even on a local road trip. You could take up a new hobby or perfect an old one. You can work hard to get your Ps if you don’t have them yet, or try to catch up with friends you haven’t seen for a while during the busy exam season.

2. Sell your textbooks and/or notes.

Get rid of your undoubtedly large pile of HSC materials via Facebook groups, school textbook sales and through networks of younger grades. If you’re in the 2019 Year 12 cohort, your notes are particularly valuable since they would be up to date with the new syllabus!

3. Get a part time job

While this can be easier said than done, these holidays would be a perfect time to earn some money before uni starts. Perhaps make a weekly goal for how many resumes and applications you send out - the job hunt might be difficult, but it’ll be worth it in the end when you see your bank account after a few shifts!

4. Keep up to date with UAC preferences and the due dates

Note down when UAC rounds open and close to make sure you maximise your chances at receiving the offer you want. Also, double check if you’re eligible for EAS or Equity Scholarships!

5. Narrow down your choices for degrees or universities

Check out our guides for USYD or UNSW and Macquarie or UTS to compare universities! Stay tuned for updates on these in the coming weeks.
