No, no, NO, don’t try your new diet today. Here are a few things to watch out for that little weird you might do on or before a very important exam!

Don’t sleep too late, but don’t sleep too early either!

Don’t sleep too early because chances are, you won’t be able to fall asleep. It’s best to go to bed at the same time as normal, just like any other day. Going against your normal sleeping pattern could result in you lying in bed for hours and numerous toilet trips before falling asleep. Furthermore, you may be a little nervous, making it even harder for you to fall asleep.

And yes, of course, don’t study all night because it won’t be worth it. Your brain needs adequate rest in order to function at its maximum potential the next day.

Don’t decide to try new foods

Yes, you might’ve read online that some special food with omega 3 can help boost your brain function (and you might’ve heard it from me). BUT, please do not try something you’ve never eaten before on an exam day (especially for you lactose intolerant peeps out there!). Drinking an energy drink for the first time before an exam, because you feel a little tired, may instead leave you unable to think clearly during the exam as your body has never had to deal with this sudden increase in energy. Furthermore, you don’t want indigestion and having to use the toilet constantly during an exam may cost you previous time.

Keep it like any other day if possible

Basically, try to keep it like any other day with anything you do. You’re probably already nervous and trying new things can result in unexpected outcomes which may leave you even more stressed or worse, late.

Warm your hands (if it’s in Winter)

Trust me, trying to write as fast as you can with cold hands is like trying type on another person’s phone that you’ve never used before. It ain’t gonna work. Your hands will feel numb and your ability to running write will drop. So next time, wear gloves beforehand and give your hands a good rub during reading time!

GOOD LUCK! YOU WON’T FAIL… (but if you don’t listen to me you will…) See you next time!
